Little Flower Dancing School August 2016 Newsletter

We hope everyone had a great summer and hope to see you at registration. Please read the following for important information and dates and retain this Newsletter for future reference!!

REGISTRATION:
Registration will take place on Wednesday, August 31st, from 3:00 pm until 7:00 pm in the Little Flower School Hall. Please download and bring the registration form below, along with the registration fee of $15.00 per dancer. Registration forms can also be mailed to:

NO REGISTRATIONS will be accepted after Saturday, September 24th. Dancers MUST be 4 years old by October 1st in order to register.

 SHOE SALE:
Our shoe sale will take place during registration on Wednesday August 31st. We will have both new and used shoes for sale. If you have shoes to donate, please tie them together and give them to one of the registration volunteers. If you would like to purchase a pair of used shoes, we ask for a $5 donation for each pair of shoes. New shoes will be available to try on at registration and orders will be available for pick-up the first day of class.

Checks for new shoes need to be made payable to Marilyn Schunzel. You may purchase shoes from wherever you prefer, however for the recital we require pink ballet slippers, black tap shoes, and tan jazz shoes.

Shoe sale will only be at registration.

RECITAL:
The recital date has not yet been finalized. We will provide this information to you as soon as we have it. It is tentatively scheduled for the weekend of May 20/21, 2016 but this is not yet confirmed.

LOST & FOUND:
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE put your child’s name in all dance shoes, jackets, dance clothing, dance bags, etc. It’s much easier to return items if they are left behind at dance if they are labeled. If your dancer picked up something extra from the last recital, please bring it with you so we can attempt to return it to the rightful owner. We will hold items from last year’s Lost & Found and the recital for one month before we donate everything.

DANCE CLASSES:
Dance classes will begin on Saturday, September 10, 2016. All dancers are required to check in before class. Class fees are $187 per class, per school year. Monthly payments will be accepted. Payment is due even if class is missed. Please refer to the Payment section below for a list of the class dates and monthly payment amounts.

ATTENDANCE:
Please let us know when your dancer is going to be absent. Please note that you are responsible for the entire year of tuition regardless of when you register. ALL DANCERS MUST ATTEND 4 OF THE LAST 5 CLASSES IN THE SPRING AS WE PREPARE FOR THE RECITAL. Excessive absences during this time must be pre-approved by one of the Dance Chairs.

CLASSTIMES:
See below for the schedule of class times.

8:30–9:30am             Dance – Grades 7th  and up

9:30–10:15am           Acro – Grades 4th and up

10:15–11:00am         Special Ballet–Grades 4th and up

11:00–11:45am         Dance – Grades 4th through 6th

11:45–12:30pm         Dance-Grades Pre K through K (Kindergarten new dancer)

12:30–1:15pm            Dance–Grades K through 1st (Kindergarten previous dancer)

1:15–2:00pm              Acro – Grades 1st through 3rd

2:00–2:45pm             Dance – Grades 2nd through3rd

 

PAYMENT:
Payments are due the first Saturday of every month. We do NOT accept weekly payments. Below is a list of class dates for this year and each monthly payment amount. Payment is due even if class is missed. As mentioned above, you are responsible for the entire year of class fees regardless of your registration date. Once payment is made for the month there are no refunds.

ALL CLASS FEES FOR FALL MUST BE CURRENT THROUGH DECEMBER 3, 2016, TO BE ABLE TO ORDER COSTUMES. Costume order date will be January 7, 2016, and order information and payment for all costumes must be paid in full on that date. ALL SPRING CLASS FEES MUST BE PAID IN FULL BEFORE YOU CAN PURCHASE RECITAL TICKETS.

OBSERVATION DAYS:
Tentative dates for observation are October 15th, November 26th, and January 21st. so mark your calendars and don’t forget to invite grandmas, grandpas, aunts and uncles to come watch you dance on these days!
